William Macleod

Printed on a sheet of white laid paper c.20 x 33.5 cm. and signed in pencil lower margin.Scottish artist W.D. Macleod studied at the Glasgow School of Art 1919-1923 and he exhibited at the RSA, and Paris Salon. Forty-two of his etchings have been recorded and none later than 1930 and some of the better ones rival those of James McBey.From c.1927 his etchings were published by the Fine Arts Society.
