History of Arts in the World
From the earliest prints to the illustrated books and works on paper of the 19th and 20th centuries, art offers a glimpse into the ideas, people and places of its time. Our collection celebrates this history through original works by artists whose skill and imagination continue to inspire. Each piece has its own story, and we invite you to explore the collection and find a work that speaks to you.
Art connects us with the people, ideas and traditions of the past. Through prints, drawings and illustrated books, we can discover how artists captured the character of their time—from carefully observed landscapes and expressive portraits to scenes from literature, theatre and everyday life. Each work offers a different perspective, shaped by its creator, materials and technique.
At Vincent G. Barlow, we bring together original works on paper and books illustrated with original prints, with a particular interest in 19th- and 20th-century art. Our experience in the art and book trade stretches back to the late 1960s, and the business was established under Vincent G. Barlow’s name in 1981. We invite you to explore the collection, learn about the works, and find a piece of art history that feels meaningful to you.
