Antoine Calbet, painter/printmaker was born in Combebonnet in Lot-et-Garonne France. He studied first in Montpellier then to Paris under Alexandre Cabanel and Edouard Antoine Marsal at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts. First exhibition at the Salon of French Artists in 1880 and became a member of the French Artists Society. In 1900 he won a silver medal at the World Exhibition in Paris. His lithographs were mainly of nude women of la Belle Epoque and were printed in colours.
