Charles Haselwood Shannon, painter and lithographer and lifelong partner of Charles Ricketts. He illustrated, in collaboration with Ricketts, two pre-vale press books with woodengravings but is known mainly for his innovative use of lithography. Many of his early works appear in journals of the 1890’s including “The Dial Magazine” for which he was joint editor.
