Joy Claire Allison Dalby RWS was born in St.Andrews, Scotland. Studied engraving and calligraphy at the City & Guilds of London Art School 1964-1967. Taught wood-engraving by Joan Hassall. A number of solo exhibitions followed at Camberly in Surrey 1975, Halifax House, Oxford, 1987, Shetland Museum in Lerwick 1988.
Ellected associate Royal Society of Painter Print Makers 1978. Fellow 1982. Member of the Society of Wood-Engravers. Works held V&A, Ashmolean Museum Oxford, Fitzwilliam Museum, The Royal Collection among others.
