David Knight was born in Coulsdon, Surrey and studied at the Wimbledon School of Art. He worked for a short time as art editor for a magazine before becoming a full time free-lance artist. His first commissions were for magazine illustrations for the Radio Times, Good Housekeeping and the Leader among others. Illustrated many books including children’s books, mainly in black & white.
