Ernst Ludwig Kirchner studied at the Architekturstudiums in Dresden in 1901-03 then to Munich from 1903. He was a founder member of “Die Brucke” along with Heckel, Schmidt-Rottluff and Fritz Bleyl in 1905. Moved to Berlin in 1911 and worked with Max Pechstein. Retrospective in Bern and his first major one-man show in U.S.A. 1937.
