Hans Andre was born in Innsbruck and was an Austrian painter.sculptor and print maker. He was also a member of the Austrian Exlibris Society working in Vienna. An example of one of his woodcuts is reproduced in ‘The Woodcut Annual No. 3’ published by Fleuron Ltd.1929. He was entrusted with the artistic redesign of numerous churches and public buildings in Vienna after the Second World War with frescoes and sculptures in the heavily bombed state capital.
