Herbert Davis Richter RI, RSW, ROI, painter mainly in oils. Born in Brighton and studied furniture design at Bath School of Art and continued to practice as a designer for about ten years from the mid 1890’s. Studied in London under J.M.Swan and Frank Brangwyn. Won a silver medal at the Paris Salon after having won both gold and silver at the Paris International Exhibition of 1900 for furniture design. He exhibited paintings at the RA, RBA, ROI, RSW, and at the Goupil and Leicester Galleries. Works held at the V & A and many other galleries in Britain and overseas.
