Louis Justin Laurent Icart was born in Toulouse and arrived in Paris in 1907. He worked in a post card studio where he learned print making techniques. He had his first exhibition in Barcelona in 1912 and developed his art of etching with coloured aquatint in an “art Deco” style mainly of scantily clad ladies “gravure de boudoir” subjects.
