The actor and mime artist Marcel Marceau was born in Strasbourg, France in 1923. He was also a painter and print maker and was elected member of the Academy of Fine Arts Berlin, Academy of Fine Arts Munich and Academie des Beaux-Arts of the Institut de France. He was author and illustrator of his own published books including an art book ‘The Ballad of Paris and of the World’ 1966 and ‘The Story of Bip’ and other childrens books. In 1982 was published in Paris ‘The Third Eye’ his collection of 10 lithographs with accompanying text by Marceau.
