Marcus Behmer printmaker, illustrator and typographer taught in Munich (1897-1900) worked in France (1900-01) and Italy (1905-09) before moving to Berlin in 1909. His work, which was somewhat influenced by English book illustration, appeared in many journals of the art nouveau period including Ver Sacrum, Die Insel and Jugend.
