Michael Blaker was born in Hove and studied at Brighton School of Art under Leslie Cole, Charles Knight and R.T.Cowern. He founded the Beresford Press and published his autobiography in 1986. For 10 years he was editor and designer of the Printmakers Journal and a senior fellow of the Royal Society of Painters and Printmakers (RE). He wrote on print making and supplied an introduction to the Memorial Portfolio of Paul Drury published in 1994. His etchings are mainly of townscapes in London, Brighton and other European City’s. Examples of his work are held at the Tate Gallery, V&A and British Museums.
