Henri Boutet was born in Sainte-Hermine,Vendee and is a well known artist in the “Belle Epoque” style of the French 1890’s. He was known as “Le Petit Maitre au Corset” (the little master of the corset) in the style “La Parisienne” (women in various states of undress!). He founded his own publishing company issuing calendars and menus and contributing to French journals of the 1890’s such as “Les Modes Feminines du XlX siecle”. Known mainly as a graphic artist working in drypoint, etching and lithography in the Art Nouveau style of Paris at the turn of the century. Ref: L. Maillard: Henri Boutet.
