7 original line engravings on copper, each initialed by the artist in pencil. Printed on sheets of white hand-made paper c. 370 x 270 mm. each contained loose in a titled folder, chemise and slip-case. No. 44/70 copies only.
One of the first published works by the artist, originally commissioned in 1929 by Stanley Morrison, who had been deeply impressed by the linearity of her style and thought it perfectly suited to copper engraving. Only a single plate was published at the time, in Fleuron VII, and the remaining plates remained unseen until Barn Elms printed them for the first time in this edition. Despite impressing David Jones with her work, Richards never again worked with intaglio methods.
