John Everett Millais

Privately printed by Charles Dalziel and published by the Camden Press (1902) Complete set of 20 India paper proofs of illustrations by Millais engraved on wood by the brothers Dalziel. One of less than 50 copies (30-40) and bound in full morocco gilt t.e.g. as published. In 1864 the Dalziels printed 50 sets of Millais’ illustrations on India paper from the original woodblocks but not issued until the present publication. The work is augmented with excellent facsimiles of autographed letters on varying coloured papers tipped into the volume and with additional leaves printing quotations from the Parables. A very good copy of a rare publication.
