Printed in brownish ink with plate tone on cream wove paper sheet c. 25.5 x 17.5 cm. Signed in pencil and numbered 19/75 beneath image. Joseph Simpson studied at the Glasgow School of Art and was an etcher mainly of portraits. He exhibited RSA;RSW and was a war artist with the R.A.F. 1918. Collections in BM and V&AM.
