Printed in black ink on a sheet of fine india paper c.7.5.x 10. cm. A lifetime impression india paper proof issued in small numbers prior to 1828. Especially noticeable is the light silvery pencil-like quality which is much finer than any of the contemporary book impressions or later re-strikes which tend towards heavier inking. This subject has been identified as being by Thomas Bewick Ref: Iain Bain: Thomas Bewick Vignettes. 1978. 17a.
